LSC Access to Audit Policy
Legal Services Commission access to case records - policy
Case files might need to be examined by LSC auditors or agents working on their behalf, to check that the organisation meets Quality Mark standards at the general help level. The Commission operates their own confidentiality policy and the organisation will allow access to a sample of client records solely for the purpose of carrying out audits.
The organisation will not allow auditors to look at a client?s file if the client concerned does not want this to happen.
We will not routinely ask all clients whether they are happy for auditors to examine case records. Rather, we will indicate on general publicity that our records are monitored by the LSC as part of our Quality Mark membership. Any clients who object to this practice can withhold their consent for the LSC to audit any case records produced. Back to top
